Strengthening Connections Across the BASIS Network
During the October break, Dr. W, Head of School at BASIS International School Bangkok, visited several BASIS campuses in the United States to connect with school leaders, observe classroom practices, and exchange ideas that will further enhance teaching and learning for our students in Bangkok.
His week began with collaborative leadership meetings, where he worked alongside the Senior Leadership Team on ongoing initiatives and long-term school goals aimed at fostering continuous improvement across the BASIS network.

Visits to BASIS Independent Schools in Silicon Valley and Fremont
Dr. W visited BASIS Independent Silicon Valley and BASIS Independent Fremont, where he was warmly welcomed by school leaders, teachers, and students. He toured classrooms, observed lessons, and engaged in meaningful discussions on academic programs and student life.
At BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Lower, hosted by Ms. Brooklyn, Head of School, Dr. W had the opportunity to interact with primary students during an engaging English spelling lesson. He also spent time at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Upper, observing a Grade 12 Multivariable Calculus class and conversing with students about their academic journeys and goals.

Connecting with BASIS Independent Fremont
At BASIS Independent Fremont, Dr. W met with Ms. Mariam, Head of School, and joined a conversation with students who recently hosted participants from the BASIS Exchange Program. Their discussion reflected on the success of the exchange and explored new ways to continue fostering global collaboration and cultural exchange among BASIS schools.
Dr. W also discussed the introduction of the Grade 12 Senior Projects and Capstones—a new initiative that will launch at BASIS International School Bangkok in the next academic year. These projects will give students authentic, research-based experiences that prepare them for university studies and life beyond the classroom.
Looking Ahead: Shared Growth and Vision
The visit concluded with a reflective meeting between Dr. W and Mr. Toby, Vice President of BASIS International Schools, to discuss the network’s shared goals and continued growth.
Dr. W’s visit provided valuable insights into effective practices across the BASIS network, reaffirming our shared mission to deliver world-class education and to nurture globally minded learners.
