Every year, at BASIS International School Bangkok, our TUSKERS take part in the Thai traditional Wai Kru ceremony, an event that beautifully highlights the importance of respect and gratitude in Thai culture. This heartfelt ceremony allows our students to express their appreciation for the teachers who guide and support them daily.
In preparation for the event, students handcrafted flower trays, a traditional gesture symbolizing respect and gratitude. Seeing students offer these trays to their teachers is a powerful reminder of the deep respect embedded in Thai traditions, a tradition that values both knowledge and the individuals who impart it.

At BASIS Bangkok, we take pride in being “Locally rooted and globally connected.” While we are committed to delivering a world-class education, we also deeply value the customs of Thai culture. Through the Wai Kru ceremony, our students learn to preserve Thai traditions and recognizing the meaningful relationships that shape their educational journey.

In fostering these values, BASIS Bangkok not only promotes academic excellence but also shapes students into respectful, compassionate, and culturally aware individuals. This balance of academic and personal growth is our school’s mission, and the Wai Kru ceremony is a cherished occasion that reinforces this vision.
