National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a longstanding organization with thousands of chapters in the United States and abroad. The founding principles of NJHS were to give students with strong academic achievements the opportunity to develop essential characteristics for future success as well as celebrate and foster their hard work in school. The five pillars of NJHS represent these core characteristics every member is challenged to uphold: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

For nearly 100 years, NJHS chapters around the United States and beyond have been serving their communities. This is also aligned with our school mission and vision. Established in 2023, NJHS at BASIS International School Bangkok has been working on many projects to serve the school and local community.

NJHS Induction Ceremony:

We were so proud to hold our second BISB National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) induction ceremony. This time-honored tradition is kept by NJHS chapters around the world to officially recognize new members. Thank you to all of the family and friends of our NJHS members who attended the induction ceremony, and congratulations to all of our new members. We look forward to seeing your continued efforts and contributions to our TUSKERS community.

NJHS Projects:

This year, they raised over ฿30,000 to support the children’s foundation at Baan Tantawan through a successful NJHS Bake Sales. The team has shown their spirit by spending their evenings after school and school breaks baking delicious brownies and cookies. They also planned fun activities for the annual Songkran festivities at school. Through this project, the members learned the basics of making a business plan, preparing a budget, and they showed their baking skills and creativity.

Moving forward, the NJHS members at BISB will be more involved and taking active roles in organizing and planning two upcoming school projects, the Middle School BASIS Got Talent show and the end-of-year BASIS Art Exhibition. These projects will allow our members to learn about project management and event planning.

As a school, we are proud to see the progress our NJHS chapter has made thus far. We are looking forward to selecting new members in the coming years and growing a strong tradition that emphasizes academic excellence and outstanding character.

If you are interested in being a part of NJHS at BISB, please stay tuned for upcoming news and future projects!
